Under the 8 September 2026 taluka-classification GR, Annexure A places 130 talukas in Category A and 138 in Category B for schemes under Viksit Gujarat Industrial Policy 2026. Use the exact project taluka and district—not the nearest city, registered-office address or an old Category I/II/III list.
Category identifies a location; it does not approve a subsidy. The GR expressly leaves the incentive package, eligibility and other conditions to the respective scheme. This page combines the complete annexure lookup with an example of how category changes benefits under the separate Large-industries GR.

Transcription notes: The source splits some districts across pages. It prints “Fagvel (Kathalal and Kapadvanj” without a closing parenthesis; this is retained rather than silently changing the source. Similar names recur across districts, so match both district and taluka. A project in a newly constituted taluka needs its land/revenue record checked, not a guess based on the name of its parent taluka.
Why “Ahmedabad district” is not enough
The annexure places Dholera, DetrojRampura and Dhandhuka in Category A. It places Viramgam, Daskroi, Bavla, Dholka, Sanand, Mandal and Ahmedabad City in Category B. They are all listed under Ahmedabad district, but the category is not uniform.
Gandhinagar's listed talukas—Kalol, Dehgam, Gandhinagar and Mansa—are all Category B. In Kheda, Matar is Category A while Kapadvanj is Category B. For these examples the relevant source pages are 2, 3 and 4 respectively.
The label “near Ahmedabad” in a vendor quotation therefore cannot determine the incentive category. Verify where the industrial project is actually situated.
Worked example: Dholera versus Sanand
Assume two otherwise identical proposed projects each qualify as Large undertakings in a General Sector, each with ₹175 crore EFCI. One project is in Dholera (A), the other in Sanand (B). This is a hypothetical comparison, not site-selection advice or confirmation that any specific plot qualifies.

The nominal capital-component difference is ₹8.75 crore over ten years, not ₹8.75 crore available to buy the land today. The combined ceiling also depends on admissible component claims. Actual interest, eligible power consumption, annual caps, approvals and claim timing matter.

Does the higher category always make the better location?
No. Use the category as one input to the site comparison. Our suggested commercial working is to compare land and development cost, raw-material and customer transport, workforce access, electricity/water reliability, approvals, construction time and financing cost, alongside the timing and realistically usable incentives.

How to confirm the correct category before applying
Use the site's land/revenue or GIDC possession records to identify the district and taluka. Match the entry to the 2026 annexure. Where a new taluka, spelling variation or boundary issue is involved, obtain confirmation through the relevant revenue/industrial authority before relying on it. Then select the incentive scheme and establish undertaking type, sector and EFCI.
The taluka GR gives a classification list; it does not provide a village-by-village mapping, a plot locator or rules for every boundary-change scenario. This website cannot infer those missing details from a postal code.
Keep the classification evidence with the application, along with your EFCI schedule, scheme eligibility and deadline review, and project documents. The evidence-file suggestion is an editorial recommendation.
Common mistakes this lookup should prevent
Do not substitute the old Industrial Policy 2020 Category I/II/III list for the 2026 A/B list. Do not use the registered office when the factory is elsewhere. Do not treat an entire district as one category, or apply a Large-industry percentage to an MSME because both use the same taluka classification. Do not assume a new parenthetical taluka entry proves where a particular village or survey number now falls.
The correct sequence is site → taluka category → applicable scheme → project classification → eligible costs → benefit limits → applications and approvals.

Is Sanand Category A or Category B?
